Privacy Policy

Meridian does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Period.

Location

Meridian uses your device's location to show the Sun's position and your daylight hours for where you are. All sun calculations happen on your device, entirely offline. To turn your location into a place name — and for city search — the coordinates are sent to Apple Maps, governed by Apple's privacy policy. They're never sent to us, never stored on our servers, and never shared with anyone else.

Location access is optional. You can decline it and choose a city manually instead.

What we don't do

There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. Meridian makes no network requests for its core function. Optional city search and the map picker use Apple's MapKit services, governed by Apple's privacy policy; Meridian itself receives and retains nothing from those lookups beyond the coordinates you chose, stored only on your device.

Data stored on your device

Your chosen and saved locations are stored locally on your device and nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes them.

The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read your saved place from that on-device storage and compute their sun times locally as well — they make no network requests and send nothing anywhere.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
